IBC systems are now unavailable until 8am Thursday 2 October

We have now begun a significant upgrade which will make behind-the-scenes improvements to the systems you use every day — like booking leave, checking your payslip, or completing training. Don’t worry, if you’re normally paid at the end of the month, you’ll be paid as normal.

Sep 24 2025

These systems are now unavailable:

  • Employee Self Service (ESS)
  • IBC Portal
  • Learning Zone
  • Internal Job Opportunities (OCC, OCC Schools and HCC Schools will still be able to view through the OCC intranet or Education Jobs)

We are expecting the system to be available to use from 8am on Thursday 2 October, however we do have a contingency downtime period until Monday 6 October if needed. Any extension to the downtime period will be communicated on the Shared Services Landing Page.

What You Need to Do

Keep a record of anything that will need to be submitted on the system once it is available next week e.g. absences and attendances.

Do you work for Hampshire and IOW Constabulary, Hampshire Fire and Rescue Service, London Borough of Hammersmith and Fulham or Westminster City Council?

Once the system is available again, you’ll only have a short window to input changes ready for the October payroll deadlinePlease plan accordingly to ensure all relevant submissions, such as absences, attendances and management forms (e.g. manage leaver) are completed in time.

What to Expect

You’ll still use the same tools — ESS Lite, the IBC Portal, and Learning Zone — and the way you use them won’t change much. But behind the scenes, we’re making big improvements to support you better and realise the potential of S/4HANA.

Check out our news articles which showcase some of the small changes you can expect to see

Questions?

Although our webchat service is still available, just like you, our advisors do not have access to any of these systems so they will only be able to provide general advice and guidance. If you raised an enquiry prior to the downtime and have not yet received a response, we’ll respond to it as soon as possible once the system is available.

Should you still have questions, you can get in touch with the nominated contact for your organisation and they will be happy to help. These contacts are:
