There are several places to get tested in Hampshire and all sites are open over Christmas and New Year – location details and the festive timetable are available on the County Council’s Test and Trace guidance page. All tests must be booked in advance, either online or by calling 119.
Hampshire County Council’s Director of Public Health, Simon Bryant, said: “With Gosport and Havant Boroughs entering Tier 4 (Stay at Home) restrictions on Sunday 20 December – and the rest of the Hampshire County Council local authority area remaining in Tier 2 (High) of local restrictions – we must all remain vigilant over the festive period. Prompt self-isolation, testing and tracing of close contacts are crucial for breaking chains of infection and protecting our loved ones and communities. I urge residents to continue following the current Tier restrictions and consider very carefully the risks of socialising, particularly with the elderly or clinically vulnerable.”
Local Tracing Service
The Local Tracing Service is supporting NHS Test and Trace by telephoning positive local cases from a local number, to gather details of their movements and close contacts for the national team to then follow-up. The local team will also be able to offer advice on the community support available to help people to self-isolate if required, and to pick up on any welfare and wellbeing concerns, signposting to local sources of help and assistance.
